My clippers just died mid-haircut yesterday, total nightmare

I was halfway through a fade on a regular at my shop in Portland when my Wahl Magic Clips just stopped spinning. No warning, no weird noise, just dead. I had to finish the whole thing with my backup Andis, which felt totally different and threw off my blend. Has anyone else had a clipper just give out like that, or am I just unlucky?

Used to think expensive clippers were pretty much foolproof, but my Oster 76s crapped out right in the middle of a zero gap on a kid's high and tight last month. Motor just started smoking and seized up completely, had to finish with a shaver and a prayer. That experience made me realize even the best tools can fail at the worst time, no brand is immune to a dud. Now I keep a second set of clippers warmed up and ready to swap in whenever I start a cut, learned that lesson the hard way.

Grayb64 nailed it, I was one of those guys who thought premium clippers were bulletproof until my Seniors did the exact same thing mid-burst fade. Used to roll my eyes at guys with backup clippers, now I'm that guy with two sets warming up.
