My go-to fade on thick hair changed after a client in Tulsa showed me this

A guy comes in with this super dense, coarse hair and I kept leaving a harsh line no matter how I blended. He told me to flip the clipper over and use the corners of the blade for the transition, now I get a smoother fade in half the time. Anyone else got a weird trick from a client that just works?

Wait, is that the trick where you angle the blade corners against the grain for the blend? Heard a barber in Dallas mention that once, said it saved his wrist.
