Spent two hours trying to fix a fade that looked fine to everyone but me
I was working on a client Wednesday, a regular named Marcus who gets a high fade every two weeks. His hair is fine and straight so it shows every mistake. I kept seeing a tiny line near the temple that I could not blend out no matter what guard I tried. Two full hours of clipper work later my hand was cramping and I finally realized the line was just his natural hair parting. Has anyone else chased a shadow that wasnt really there?

Respectfully disagree with you on this one. I have been cutting hair for six years now and that kind of perfectionism is what leads to burnout and frustrated clients. Marcus probably would have been fine with a 20 minute cut if you had just stopped at the first pass. That tiny line you saw was invisible to everyone else including him, and now he sat there for two hours wondering why you kept going over the same spot.
