Switched from clippers to shears for fading and my cuts got way cleaner

I've been a barber for about 5 years and always used my clippers for everything, including fades. Last month I finally took a class in Houston where the instructor made me use shears for the blend line. It took me 3 tries to get the angle right but honestly the result was so much smoother less lines and more natural. Has anyone else had that moment where switching tools made a big difference in your technique?

Man I totally get that. My first try with shears on a fade looked like I had a seizure halfway through the blend line. Had to call my buddy over to fix it while I stood there holding my cape like a dope. Took me like 5 more heads before I stopped looking like a complete amateur.
