Tried a straight razor on myself after 8 years of cutting others, blood everywhere

Ngl I've been cutting hair since 2016 and always talked a big game about how easy straight razor shaves are. Last week I finally decided to practice what I preach and gave myself a full face shave with one. Got through maybe 3 passes before I nicked my jawline and it looked like a crime scene in my bathroom. My client saw the bandage today and asked if I got in a fight. Lesson learned: just cause you can watch someone do something a thousand times doesn't mean you can do it. Anyone else ever humbled themselves trying their own craft at home?
