Warning: Used a damp towel for 2 years before a mentor showed me the right way

I used to wipe down my blades with a damp towel after every cut. Last month a barber I respect told me that's how you get rust and bacteria. He showed me to use a dry brush and alcohol spray instead. Has anyone else been doing this wrong?

Drying them fully after each use makes a huge difference.

Have you tried just wiping them dry right after? I've been using a damp paper towel for years and never had rust or bacteria problems as long as I dry them off fully.
