A retired teacher at a garage sale convinced me to try audiobooks
I always thought audiobooks were cheating until a woman named Carol stopped me while I was digging through a box of old paperbacks and said "reading is reading, no matter how your eyes take it in." She sold me a scratched-up CD set for $2 and now I listen during my commute and still hit the sales for physical copies.

Did you find yourself zoning out harder with audiobooks than with paper? I mean, I tried one once and missed an entire exit on the highway because I was picturing the scene so vividly. Now I just get annoyed when the narrator has a voice that doesn't match what I had in my head. But Carol's right, it's still reading, just with a different kind of attention span. My only real problem is I keep nodding off mid-chapter and have to rewind like three times.
