My last three library sales all had the same weird pattern

I hit the county library sale last Saturday and noticed something weird. The romance section was completely picked over by 9 AM, but the mystery paperbacks sat untouched until noon. Same thing happened at the church basement sale a month ago and the big community hall one three years back. I grabbed a stack of Agatha Christie hardcovers for $1 each because nobody else even looked at them. My theory is people just grab whatever genre they already like without checking the good stuff underneath. I ended up finding a signed first edition buried in a box labeled 'free craft supplies,' which made the whole morning worth it. Does anyone else find that certain sections always get overlooked at your local sales, or is my town just weird about mysteries?
