Nearly broke my back for a 50 cent Stephen King

Last Saturday I hit up this garage sale in a cul-de-sac near Maplewood and saw a box of old paperbacks marked 50 cents each. I was digging through and found a copy of 'It' from the 80s, the one with the creepy clown cover. Tried to pull it out but the whole box was wedged under a heavy wooden table. Ended up having to ask the guy running the sale to lift the table so I could slide the box out. He laughed at me and said I must really want that book. Got it home and inside the cover was a handwritten note from someone named Linda saying she lent it to her cousin in 1987. Has anyone else found weird old notes or letters inside thrift store books?

Wait hold up, that cover with the clown isn't from the 80s, it's actually the 1986 first edition cover but the one with the red balloon and the kid on the bike came out way later in the 90s. I think you might be mixing up the original Thomas Harris style cover with the movie tie-in one, because the really creepy one with just the clown face was from the 1987 printing. I've found all sorts of notes in old books too, my best was a 1970s grocery list tucked inside a John le Carre novel with prices that made me laugh out loud.
