The $30 box of books that came with a surprise bonus

Picked up a mystery box at an estate sale in Des Moines last weekend, advertised as 'assorted paperbacks'. Paid $30, got 42 books. Turns out three of them were signed first editions, but nobody told me the box also had a dead mouse tucked between two John Grisham novels. I did not check for that before loading it into my trunk. You can guess what my car smelled like for the next two days. Has anyone else ever found something gross inside a book bundle, or am I just the lucky one?
