The old librarian in Dubuque who set aside books for me

Went to a library sale in Dubuque last fall. Early morning, boxes everywhere. This older lady working the table saw me digging through the romance section and said, "You're wasting time there, honey. Follow me." She walked me to a back cart with a handwritten sign: "Staff Picks - Not Priced Yet." She pulled out a 1960s Hemingway with a broken spine and a first-edition Vonnegut someone had donated by mistake. Said she'd been setting aside good stuff for regulars for 20 years. She sold me both for $3 total. Now I always ask the workers if they have stuff in the back. Any other spots where the staff secretly hoard the good finds?
