Bent my first spoon at a wedding in Tulsa, now I can't decide if thick hotel silver is cheating or the real test
Snapped a thin dessert spoon from the reception buffet in 2 twists, but the heavy fork I tried next just laughed at me. Do you all count hotel-grade stuff as fair game or stick to the cheap bendy junk?
Man, that heavy fork laughing at you is such a kick in the gut, I have been there and it stings. Two twists on a thin dessert spoon is a solid start, so dont sell yourself short on that one. The hotel stuff is a real gray area because those thick pieces are built to survive a thousand dishwashers, not to give in to some random guest at a wedding. Most folks I know count it as fair game as long as you got it clean, but the cheap bendy junk is where you really prove your hands. Stick with both and let the fancy forks be a goal to work up to.
