Bent my last real spoon on a dare, so I switched to dollar store forks and the metal is way softer, 10/10 would snap again
So last Saturday my buddy Dave bet me 20 bucks I couldn't bend a spoon into a U shape with my bare hands, and I had exactly two options in my kitchen drawer: my mom's old stainless set that's actually decent, or a 4 pack of forks I grabbed at the dollar store in Reno for a buck. I picked the cheap forks because no way was I wrecking the good silver, and it turns out those things bend like warm butter, I got one into a full loop in maybe 8 seconds flat. The good spoon barely moved and my thumb still hurts a little, which honestly made me respect how hard real flatware is. Now I keep a stash of the dollar store ones by the couch and snap them while I watch TV, my record is 5 in one sitting. The shiny coating flakes off after a few bends though, so watch your fingers on the edges. Has anyone else noticed the forks are way easier than spoons, or is that just me?
