Derailleur hanger snapped on a group ride last Saturday out on the Fox River trail

I was shifting to an easier gear going up a steep little hill and just heard this loud crack. Looked down and the hanger was clean snapped. No spare on me either. Had to single-speed it 8 miles back to the parking lot. Made me think I should probably carry a spare hanger in my pack from now on. Anyone know if the Wolf Tooth hangers are worth the extra cost over generic ones?

Oh boy, nothing like a little forced single-speed training to remind you why you carry spare parts! I wouldn't wish an 8 mile grind back on a flat trail on anyone.
