Had to choose between a $30 universal derailleur hanger or waiting 3 weeks for the OEM part for a 2017 Kona.

Went with the universal, and now I'm re-aligning it after every other ride, so what's the best long-term fix for a frame that eats hangers?

Is it really eating hangers or just that cheap part?

You know, I always thought it was just the cheap part too, but seeing how they go for the whole thing changed my mind.

You mentioned it changed your MIND when you saw 'em go for the whole thing. But what exactly did you see them go for? Like the whole thing as in the ENTIRE wire rack, or the whole thing as in the whole bag of parts? I saw a guy at a flea market buy a beat up old TV that was missing the back just because the transformer was in there. Makes you wonder if there's something SPECIFIC they're after in those racks, or if they're just hoarding scrap metal and hoping. Which one was it in your case?
