Just realized how many shops still use the old 3/32" spoke wrench for everything. Found a spec sheet from DT Swiss saying modern wheels need 3.2mm, 3.3mm, and 3.45mm keys, not just one.

Check the actual spec sheet again. DT Swiss lists 3.2mm for Pro Lock, 3.3mm for standard Squorx, and 3.45mm for older ones. The 3/32 inch wrench is 2.4mm, so it's way off. Using the wrong size just rounds the nipples. Most shops have a set of the three correct keys now.

Wow, that's actually super clear. I always just grabbed the 3/32 key thinking it was close enough for all of them. Never bothered to look up the real numbers. Seeing them listed out like that, the difference is huge... no wonder I've messed up a couple nipples before. You just changed my whole approach. I'm getting the proper set of keys.

Used to be one of those guys who just grabbed whatever wrench was in the parts drawer and called it good. This thread finally made me check the actual sizes against my tools and yeah, the 3/32 is basically useless for half the newer stuff. Glad I picked up the proper set before I ruined another batch of nipples.
