PSA: swapping from a triangle stand to a wall mount in my 12x20 shop saved me from dropping a $2k bike twice
I fought with that stupid tripod stand for years, always bumping it and watching the bike lean like it was gonna fall, but the $40 wall hook bolted into the stud holds it dead still while I swap cables or pull a crank, so what's the dumbest tool or setup you kept using way too long before switching?
Wow, I always figured a wall mount was overkill for a small shop and that my tripod was just fine. Then I watched my bike tip twice in one week and finally got why you switched, turns out bolting it to a stud is way more solid than I wanted to admit. Some setups are worth eating the extra cost just to stop the near misses.
