Spent $40 on a Park Tool chain checker that lied to my face
Bought the CC-3.2 last month because my old ruler method felt too sloppy. Checked my commuter's chain and it showed 0.5 stretch, so I swapped it out at 800 miles, way early. Two shops in Denver later, both guys pulled out a simple steel ruler and showed the chain had barely moved. Turns out the pins on mine were worn and reading about 0.15 too high. Anyone else find these gadgets drift over time, or did I just get a bad one?
