Thru-axle thread pitches are a total mess, why can't this be standardized? It's so frustrating.

Grab a thread gauge. Maybe it's just me but it helps avoid buying the wrong axle.

Brands tweak thread pitches so you have to buy their stuff. It's a profit move disguised as innovation.

Seriously? I just found out my gravel bike uses a 12x1.0 thread but my friend's mountain bike is 12x1.5... it's a total joke. Like @west.hugo said, a thread gauge can save you, but that's just a band-aid. Why should we need a special tool to buy a simple part? It feels like brands are creating problems to lock you into their system. I've mixed up axles so many times it's costing me real money.
