Am I the only one who thought the last season of Stranger Things was a letdown?

Last week, I finally binged the new season everyone's been raving about. I watched it all over three days in my apartment in Denver. Honestly, the whole Russian prison subplot felt like it dragged on for at least 4 episodes too long. The show used to be about the kids and their bond, but this time it felt like a bunch of separate, less interesting stories. I kept waiting for it to click, but it just didn't hit the same as the first two seasons for me. Has anyone else felt this way, or did I just miss something?

The Russian prison arc really did feel like a whole separate, slower show.

Yeah, it was slower. Felt like they were just killing time until the main plot could start again.
