Can we talk about shows that jump the shark in season 2?

I noticed a pattern where I love season 1 of a series, then season 2 comes along and everything feels forced. Tried a trick my friend suggested, skip episodes 4-6 of season 2 on most shows and see if it gets better. Worked for me on two different streaming shows last month. Has anyone else found a specific episode range that kills a season for them?

Got a friend who swore up and down that skipping the first two episodes of season 2 of a certain popular drama made it way better because the showrunners were clearly figuring out what to do with the characters. I tried it on that one cop show everyone was talking about, ended up totally lost on who was dating who and gave up halfway through episode 3. Now I just commit to the full mess or bail after the first season, no middle ground.

Oh man, my friend tried that on a fantasy show and got so confused she just quit watching entirely.
