I just finished that thriller and the main character's death still doesn't sit right with me.

Some fans think it was a powerful moment, but others see it as a cheap trick, so what's your view?

Lol, getting sad over a cereal commercial character is next level. But yeah, if a cereal ad can wreck you, no wonder that thriller's ending hit hard. The death felt like a cheap shot because they built up all that hope just to pull the rug out. Now my laundry pile is judging me for crying over pixels instead of folding socks.

The way the main character just accepts it in that final scene felt off to me... It made their whole fight up to that point seem kinda pointless. I get what they were going for, a tragic sacrifice, but the execution was clumsy. Honestly, my opinion might be biased because I get too attached to fictional people... I once got sad over a side character in a cereal commercial. So maybe the problem is just me over here, mourning a made-up person instead of doing my laundry.

Wait, did you feel like the acceptance was out of character? I saw it as the only choice left that fit their arc, like they finally stopped running from a fate they helped create. The fight wasn't pointless, it showed how far they'd go before hitting a wall they built themselves.
