My wife said my show picks were too 'samey' and it made me try something new
She pointed out that for a whole year, I only picked crime dramas and sci-fi, like 'The Expanse' and 'True Detective'. So last month, I finally watched 'The Bear' on Hulu, which is totally not my usual thing. I ended up loving it and binged both seasons in a week. Has anyone else had a push from someone that got them into a whole new type of show?

Honestly, "samey" just means you know what you like! My husband tried to get me into cooking shows and I just went back to my sci-fi.

Used to think sticking with one type of show meant you were missing out. Then I got hooked on those true crime documentaries and realized, like @amy692 said, it's just about comfort and knowing what you enjoy. Now I watch them all the time, even the poorly made ones. My husband just shakes his head and puts his headphones on.
