Overheard a producer say the ending of that hit show was reshot last minute

I was at a coffee shop near Sunset Blvd on Tuesday and heard two guys talking about a major streaming show, they said the final episode they shot had a completely different ending than what aired. It got me thinking, how many binge series have endings that got changed in the edit after test audiences hated them? Has anyone else ever found out a show's original ending leaked or got discussed somewhere, and did it change how you felt about the season?
