Shoutout to that old UK crime drama I picked over a new Netflix series last weekend

I had to choose between rewatching Prime Suspect from the 90s or starting that new British crime show everyone is talking about, and I went with Helen Mirren. Three episodes in and the pacing is slower than I remembered but the acting is still top notch. Anyone else find themselves ditching the shiny new stuff for older shows they know they will like?

Hard disagree on that one. New shows take risks sometimes. Old ones are just safe bets. Watched a newer British crime thing last month and it blew my mind with how they filmed it. Different style. Fast cuts. Crazy plot twists. Prime Suspect is solid but you have already seen it. Nothing beats that first time discovery feeling. Missing out on something fresh and alive feels like a waste of a weekend.
