Vent: My coworker made me rethink The Wire and I still disagree

A guy in my office, maybe 25 years old, said The Wire is "too slow and boring" compared to modern streaming shows. He compared it unfavorably to Ozark, and now I can't stop thinking about how different generations define what makes a show binge worthy. Has anyone else had their favorite show dismissed like that?

Comparing The Wire to Ozark? That's genuinely insane to me. Ozark is a tightly wound thriller that basically screams at you for four seasons. The Wire doesn't scream, it BREATHES. It takes its time showing you how the city works from every angle, the cops, the dealers, the politicians, the dockworkers, the schools. You miss the slow build of something like Stringer Bell's economics class or McNulty's whole arc with his kids, and you miss the whole point of the show.

Yeah but Ozark at least knew when to end.
