Man, I feel you on that. I tried to tough it out in my shop last summer and it was brutal. I ended up soaked in sweat, lightheaded, and my work was sloppy. Had to switch to a heavy canvas apron just to survive. Some days safety gear just fights against the weather.

My buddy runs a metal fab shop and tried one of those cooling vests last August. Said he looked like a tactical vest guy at a gun show but it actually kept him from passing out by noon. The ice packs only lasted about two hours though before turning into warm water balloons against his chest. He ditched it after a week and just went back to taking breaks in front of a box fan.
