My son's first blade attempt made me see when to step back
I was teaching my son to shape a simple blade in the forge. He kept messing up the edge by hammering too hard. Watching him learn from each error reminded me of how he tackles homework. It dawned on me that backing off can be the real help. I use that idea in our house now too.

Guess you'll just start handing him a raw steak and yelling "figure it out" for dinner too. Parenting hack unlocked.

Saw the same logic at the grocery store yesterday with self-checkout. We're just expecting everyone to figure everything out on their own now.

Actually, that's not how self-checkout works. You still get clear instructions.
