Talking to an old farrier made me rethink my anvil setup
Ran into a guy at a swap meet in Ohio last weekend who's been shoeing horses for 40 years. He looked at my anvil and just laughed. Said I had it sitting way too low and my hammer angle was off because of it. I thought I had it dialed in after 5 years of forging. He let me try his setup for 10 minutes and my hits felt so much cleaner. Has anyone else had a veteran call them out on something basic they thought they had figured out?
