Found a whole wall solution with $12 of thrift store frames and old maps

Stopped by a Goodwill in Tacoma last Saturday and picked up 5 mismatched frames for about $12 total. I had a stack of old road maps from a road trip we took in 2019, so I cut the maps to fit and hung them in a grid with cheap command strips. It looked sort of random at first, but the different frame colors actually tie the maps together, and now the hallway that used to feel like a tunnel has some character. Has anyone else tried using maps or ticket stubs in mismatched frames? I'm curious if there's a trick to making the spacing look more even without buying a level.

Gotta disagree here, mismatched frames usually look messy unless you really commit to a wild maximalist vibe, and even then the map colors clash more than tie together. Spacing wise, just grab a tape measure and use painter's tape as a guide marker, that's way more reliable than eyeballing it.
