Found out my thrift store frame was holding a $40 kids painting

Okay so last month I grabbed this ugly gold frame from Goodwill for $6 just for the frame itself, figured I'd toss the print inside. But when I got home and flipped it over, there was a crayon drawing on construction paper taped to the back, signed by some kid named Tyler with a date of 1998. Out of curiosity I looked up the signature thing, turns out a local art teacher in Portland was famous for having her students do these and they sell for like $40 on Etsy? I laughed so hard I almost tore it, but now it's hanging in my hallway because honestly it looks kind of cool next to my cheap IKEA posters. Has anyone else ever kept the original weird art that came with a frame instead of swapping it out?

My buddy found a frame at a garage sale with this weird needlepoint of a cat wearing a cowboy hat. He swore he was gonna swap it out but now it's the first thing people see when they walk into his apartment. He says it's his "conversation piece" and I swear he's started dressing the cat up with little seasonal accessories. It's honestly the dumbest thing I've ever seen but also kinda perfect.
