Rant: I just found out my "vintage" poster is a 2010 reprint
Was bragging to my buddy about this old concert poster I'd scored for $5 at a garage sale near Portland. I finally looked up the serial number on the back and it turns out it's a reprint from 2010, not 1972. I felt like such a fool, paid five bucks for a copy that's worth maybe a dollar now. Has anyone else gotten burned by fake vintage stuff or do I just need to check everything twice?

$5 lesson learned, at least you didn't pay $500 for a real one.

I mean, that serial number thing is the catch, right? Those reprints from the 2000s are sneaky because they use the same paper texture and sometimes even fake the aging marks. The real giveaway is usually the printing method, the 70s ones have that offset look where the ink sits slightly raised, while the 2010 ones are flat and crisp. Still, five bucks for a cool piece of art to hang up is not a bad deal, just don't tell people it's the original.
