Spent an hour framing a $3 poster and the damn thing still looks crooked

I bought this cool vintage travel poster from a thrift store (like the ones you see in old train stations, but a cheap copy). Picked up a frame from the dollar section. Got home, measured twice, taped the poster in place with washi tape so it wouldn't slide around. Put it up on the wall. Stepped back and it's visibly tilted to the left. I swear I used a level. Took it down, redid it twice, same result. Third try I just eyeballed it and it looks fine now. So much for being precise. Has anyone else had a frame just refuse to hang straight no matter what you do?

That third time you just eyeballed it - did you make any tiny adjustment to the wire or hanger on the back of the frame before you put it up? I've had frames where the hanging hardware was just slightly off-center and no amount of leveling was gonna fix it because the frame itself was weighted wrong. I mean, even if you nail the level perfectly, if the wire is attached crooked or the sawtooth hanger is a millimeter to one side, it's gonna hang tilted. Maybe check that next time if the frame keeps giving you trouble.

Used to be the type of person who measured everything three times and got annoyed when things weren't perfect. Honestly this exact situation changed my mind about being too precise with stuff like this. Sometimes you just gotta trust your eyes more than the tools because the floor or the wall might be off anyway. Now I just line it up by sight and call it good if it looks straight from across the room. Works way better than spending an hour fighting with a level that's probably lying to you.
