Why does nobody mention leveling your frames after the nail is already in
I hung six cheap frames in our hallway near the bathroom door last month and stood back feeling proud until my wife asked why the whole row looked tipsy. Turns out the nail holes were fine but my frames were sitting crooked on the hooks because I never checked the top edge with a spirit level, just eyeballed the wire. I spent $4 on a small 9 inch level at the hardware store downtown and fixed all six in about 15 minutes by sliding tiny cardboard shims behind the low corners. Now the row looks straight from across the room, which was the whole point of hanging them there. What do you all use for shims, cardboard or those little felt pads?
