Why does nobody talk about using hotel key cards to hang art without nails?
So last month I was staying at a cheap motel outside of Reno for a work thing, and I had this poster I bought at the gift shop that I wanted to put up in my room. The front desk lady saw me trying to tape it and said they get charged for every hole in the wall, so she handed me like 6 old key cards and showed me how to wedge them behind the poster edges to hold it flat against the wall. I tried it when I got home on a big map I had rolled up in a closet for 2 years, and it actually stayed up for 3 weeks with no tape and no marks. The trick is you slide the card between the wall and the paper at a slight angle so the corner digs in just enough to grip. I ended up using 8 cards on a 24x36 poster and it held better than those sticky strips that always peel paint. Has anyone else tried this, or do you have a better trick for hanging stuff when you can't put holes in the wall?
