Paid $40 for a photo-enhance app that turned my blurry dog pic into a nightmare

I saw ads for this app that promised to fix blurry photos of animals. My dog was running and the shot looked like a smudge. I paid the $40 yearly fee and uploaded it. The result came back with like 8 legs and an eye on the snout. The free version actually did a better job but left a watermark. Has anyone else tried these AI fixers and gotten something worse than what you started with?
