Tried enhancing a blurry license plate with that new AI site, total flop

I found a mystery plate photo in a local lost pet group, someone's dog ran off near a pickup truck. Decided to run it through that $20 a month enhancer everyone's been hyping. No dice, it just smoothed the pixels into a smear, the plate came out looking like a melted candy bar. What I learned is that no software can invent detail that's just not there, grain is grain. Has anyone had luck with stacking multiple blurry frames of the same object instead of relying on one bad shot?
