A quiet moment at the local game store that meant a lot

I was at The Dragon's Hoard in Springfield last month, trying to learn a complex new game by myself. An older man, maybe in his 70s, saw me struggling and asked if he could help. He spent about 20 minutes patiently walking me through the setup and first few turns. As he left, he just said, 'We all started somewhere. Keep at it.' That simple kindness from a stranger has stuck with me more than any game win. Has a small act of help from another player ever changed your experience with a game?

Ngl it’s just some guy showing you a board game. People get weirdly deep about basic decency.

People overcomplicate the simplest acts of kindness now, like it's a foreign concept.

But stone.thomas, what if we're just making a nice moment into a whole thing?
