I think Catan is actually overrated and I stopped playing it last month after 3 years of trying to like it

The thing nobody mentions is how much Catan punishes you for trying new strategies because the dice can just decide you lose no matter what you do. You spend half the game stuck on 2 resources while someone else rolls 8s and 10s every turn around the table. That randomness makes it feel less like a strategy game and more like a lottery with extra steps.

wait @hart.ryan are you serious right now?? i thought i was the only one who noticed that lol. the dice in catan literally feel rigged sometimes, like you're just playing a slot machine with a board game attached to it
