Love that ritual because I totally do the same thing with recipes! I'll read through the whole thing twice even if I've made it a bunch of times, just to avoid missing a step. It saves so much frantic page-flipping later, kind of like your rule recap saves mid-game arguments. Small upfront time for a smoother experience always pays off.

Totally get where you're coming from! From what I've seen, I do the same thing with user manuals for new gadgets, reading them all the way through before even plugging things in. It feels a bit much sometimes, but it saves me from those confused moments later on. Your mileage may vary, but that small upfront effort really does pay off.
