Realized at 2am last Friday that I buy games based on how the box looks on my shelf
Was reorganizing the Kallax in my Denver apartment and noticed 11 unplayed games, all bought because the cover art was nice. Anyone else catch themselves doing this, or is it just a me problem?
Why do you think that happens though? For me it is like the box art is a promise of what the game could be, and that little promise feels better than actually playing it and finding out it is just ok. So I keep buying the pretty ones and stacking them up like little trophies. Honestly the shelf starts looking like a museum of games I meant to love but never touched. Then I feel bad every time I walk past it so I buy another one to fix the mood. It is a whole cycle and the cover art is the bait every single time.
