Vent: That player who spent 20 minutes explaining his turn last night really killed the game
We were at a meetup in Dallas for our weekly board game night. This guy went step by step through every card combo he was calculating, and by the time he finished, the rest of us had lost all momentum. Has anyone else dealt with someone who just can't take a quick turn?

You ever notice how some folks treat board games like they're solving a calculus problem while the rest of us are just trying to roll dice and eat chips? We had a guy at our local meetup who would narrate his entire turn like he was commentating a chess match, even down to explaining why he didn't pick the blue token. Another player started timing him with his phone after the third round, and that actually made things worse because he got defensive and went even slower. Eventually we just started a side conversation about the worst pizza toppings we'd ever tried, and that turned into a full debate until the game was over. So yeah, I get the frustration, but sometimes you gotta find your own fun when the game slows down.
