Wrote off party games for years as filler, then a 9 player night in my garage changed my mind
I used to be the guy who turned his nose up at party games at our Thursday group in Dayton. Give me a heavy euro or a two hour brain burner, anything where I have to actually think, and I was happy. Then a friend brought a copy of Just One over for a birthday thing with 9 people and I groaned when I saw the box. Turns out it did something no heavy game in my closet has ever done, it got my brother in law who hates games to play 6 rounds in a row and laugh the whole time. Over the next 4 months I tracked it, and our group played it 11 times versus 2 plays of the big box euros we spent $70 each on. I was wrong about party games being filler, they're a different tool and I was using the wrong one. What game changed your mind after you wrote it off?
