Found a cheap trick for cutting tube bevels on site
I was out on a job in Kansas City last week fabbing up some handrails and kept fighting with my grinder trying to get a clean bevel on 2 inch pipe. A buddy I was working with handed me a cheap belt sander he got for like 40 bucks at Harbor Freight and told me to try it. I clamped the pipe in a vise and ran the belt along the edge at a 45 and it laid down a perfect bevel in half the time with way less cleanup. Anyone else ever use a belt sander for beveling or is there a better budget tool out there?

Did my buddy try it on a few 6 inch pipes and go through a belt per joint?

@simonw41 yeah belts got eaten up pretty fast on those six inchers, that's your friend's mistake right there.
