I finally switched from manual to automated purge systems on tube welds
Been doing tube welding for about 8 years now and I always used manual purging with tape and paper. After 3 jobs where the purge failed halfway through and I had to grind out $400 worth of tube, I switched to an automated purge kit. Cost me $300 upfront but I haven't had a single reject since. Anyone else make the jump or still sticking with the old way?

Must be nice having money to burn on fancy toys while the rest of us are out here grinding out our own mistakes for free.

Used to think stuff like this was just throwing money away tbh, but seeing people actually learn from failing without bankrupting themselves kinda opened my eyes @jade271. Watched a buddy blow $2k on a drone kit he crashed day one, zero lessons learned just a busted toy. Another friend spent $40 on a sim setup and crashed a hundred times before he got it, now he's actually decent. That's the difference right there, burning cash vs burning virtual mistakes until they stick.
