I finally tried the copper gasket spray on a flange job

Been doing boiler repairs for 15 years and always just used the paper gaskets with a little grease. Last week I had a stubborn flange on a old unit down in Tulsa that kept weeping no matter how clean I got it. So I grabbed a can of that copper spray stuff, gave it a light coat on both sides, and torqued it down. That thing sealed up tighter than anything I've done in years, no drips after a full 8 hour run. I guess I was stuck in my ways thinking the old method was fine, but this stuff is a game changer for uneven surfaces. Has anyone else had luck with it on pitted flanges, or is it just me?

Yep, saved my butt on a pitted one last winter, just make sure the surface is bone dry first.
