Lost $200 on a cheap welding hood I should've known better
Picked up a bargain auto-darkening hood off a truck at a job site in Tulsa last fall. Worked fine for about two weeks, then the lens started flickering so bad I couldn't see my puddle. Took it apart and found the sensor board was just glued in with hot melt. Ended up buying a proper one for $260 after wasting $80 on replacement lenses plus my time. Anyone else get burned by buying gear from a random truck instead of a supply house?
