My acetylene regulator failed mid-cut yesterday, sent the gauge spinning like a top.

Was doing a 2-inch plate cut for a support bracket on a job in Gary and suddenly the pressure shot up to 150 psi before I could even hit the valve - has anyone else had a Harris regulator just give out without warning?

That thing where you trust the same tool for years and one day it just betrays you without warning. Happens with everything now, not just regulators. Had a corded drill from the 90s that ran fine forever, then the trigger stuck on during a deck job. Scorched my hand before I could pull the plug. Harris stuff used to be bulletproof but the newer ones are clearly not built the same. Maybe thats just how everything goes these days.

Holy crap 150 psi?? Thats insane man glad youre okay. Those Harris regs were always the gold standard but Ive heard the newer ones arent the same quality. Scary how fast it can go bad with no warning.
