Old union boiler vs new digital burner, went back to analog controls
We swapped out our old 1970s burner for a fancy new digital one last month on a job over in Gary. The new unit kept throwing false flame sensor faults every time the wind gusted, cost us 3 extra hours. I bit the bullet and wired it back to a simple relay logic panel like I ran 20 years ago, haven't had a hiccup since. Anyone else fighting with touchscreen setups on site, or is it just my luck with the cheap retrofit kits?

Come on, those digital units are fine if you set them up right. The false sensor faults usually come from bad ground wiring or the sensor not being positioned right, not the controller itself. Sounds like you just had a bad install kit.
