Picked a fiberglass handle over steel for the big hammer, no regrets after 4 months
Last spring I had to replace my 12 lb sledge for a demolition job over in Gary. Every guy on my crew told me to grab the steel handle since it transfers more energy, but my wrists have been screaming after long days. I went with the fiberglass one anyway, paying about $15 extra at the supply house. First week I missed the solid feel, especially on the concrete wall we were breaking. But after 4 months of using it daily, my forearms don't ache near as much and I haven't had a single handle crack. Has anyone else made the switch and stuck with it, or am I just getting soft in my 30s?
